Another reason for joining IASbet is that members can view their unique ratings alongside betting prices in the lead up to race jump time. Called Premiere Ratings these evolved from the Read ratings first established by Mark Read and streamed live to pubs, clubs and TAB agencies. More details can be found at Premier Ratings
IASbet is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sportsbet Pty Ltd and was originally established as IAS (International All Sports) in 1996 by Bookmaking legend Mark Read who started his bookmaking career over 40 years ago in 1971.
Bet Selector creator Neale Yardley says "Mark Read really is a legend as he was setting bookmaker turnover records just 7 years into his career and within 20 years - in the early 90s - he was changing the nature of bookmaking by introducing punters to products like top fluctuation and Read Rating". Mark Read became well know for these innovations thanks to the write ups in the Sportsman during the 1991 Spring Carnival of his success in raising $117,400 for the Victor Chang Foundation.
As an early adopter of computer technology, it was no surprise that Mark Read became a leader in phone and Internet betting. His company IASbet was Australia's first licensed, Stock Exchange listed, corporate International Bookmaker. IASbet is licensed by the Northern Territory Government and Queensland Racing in Australia and all jurisdictions are highly regulated ensuring your money is safe and secure with IASbet and your winnings are paid on time in full, every time.
Footnote: Mark Read's staking approach was written up by Neale Yardley in the December 1991 issue of Practical Punting Monthly. As Neale revealed Mark Read's approach was to find races where he could identify three of four "blue chip" selections and then back them in proportion to their rated chance (like normal betting to prices) but with bets increased by the percentage amount by which the available price is greater than their rated price. The fact that Neale has been recommending Mark Read's betting services ever since speaks volumes for the credibility of IASbet.
Update: Mark Read is no longer involved with IASbet or Premiere Ratings.
